Gare do Oriente

Lisbon Orient Station

Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it was built in 1998 in time for the World Fair Expo. It serves as one of the main transit hubs in Lisbon serving the Lisbon metro, commuter, intercity, and high-speed rail, as well as local, regional and international busses. It sees 75 million passengers a year, making it busier than New York's Grand Central Terminal.
